Getting it all back together is a real pain and the order in which to do things is important. You may want to replace the lower fork needles and pivot pin whilst it's apart this will eliminate any play you may have here. Also the front strut which is not an expensive part. There are a couple of different fork bearing options so best check with your dealer exactly what you need.. the cover you mentioned earlier is just a dust guard, but be sure to get the 'small' replacement part, I was sold the 'large' as a suitable replacement, but it doesn't fit.
